Welcome to a wonderful 3-day cycling and boat holiday along the Göta Canal, combining active cycling on car-free paths with a historic canal cruise and relaxing accommodation at Pensionat Prästgården in Töreboda.
Over three days, you will experience the Göta Canal both from the saddle and from the water. Cycle through beautiful countryside, pass historic locks and charming canal villages, and enjoy a boat trip through the canal's lock system. This ready-made cycling package is ideal for couples, families and anyone who wants to discover the Göta Canal in an active and varied way.
 
Day 1: Cycling Holiday – Töreboda – Sjötorp – Töreboda, 40 km
Your adventure begins in Töreboda. From here, cycle along the Göta Canal's car-free towpath towards Sjötorp. The easy route takes you through beautiful countryside and past 19 historic locks before you reach Sjötorp, beside Lake Vänern.
 
In Sjötorp, lunch awaits at Perssons i Backen. After lunch, cycle back to Töreboda and Pensionat Prästgården, where you can relax after the day's ride.

Day 2: Canal Cruise with M/S Bellevue
Today, leave your bikes behind and experience the Göta Canal from the water. M/S Bellevue departs from Töreboda at 10:30 AM and takes you on an approximately five-hour boat trip through the canal's historic surroundings.
Along the way, you will pass through locks and discover the Göta Canal from a completely different perspective. Lunch is served on board as the beautiful landscape slowly passes by.
Back at Pensionat Prästgården, you can relax and enjoy the evening. Dinner is flexible, so you can choose what suits you best. Light the barbecue in the guesthouse garden and enjoy a prepared barbecue package, or choose another option if you would prefer not to barbecue. The garden is a particularly peaceful and charming place to unwind.

Day 3: Cycling to Tåtorp – 34 km
After breakfast, your final cycling tour of the trip awaits. Follow the Göta Canal towards Tåtorp, one of the canal's historic locations.
In Tåtorp, you will find the Göta Canal's manually operated lock dating from 1814, where the lock gates are still opened and closed by hand. Along the way, you will pass places such as Wassbacken and Lanthöjden, where the impressive obelisk makes a lovely stop for a break and a coffee.
 
Feel free to bring a thermos of coffee or prepare a small packed lunch from the breakfast buffet at Pensionat Prästgården.
After approximately 34 km of cycling, you will return to Töreboda, bringing your holiday to an end with wonderful memories of a few lovely days along the Göta Canal.
